Why "tax" is becoming an old-fashioned word

The globalization of the past decades will have language consequences in the future. One of them will be the disappearance of the word tax. Its replacement (the modern equivalent) will be public service cost. I explain why:

About the randomness of tax

Where and what to pay tax for?

People in a city environment (modern global society) need good public services and people are willing to pay for it. We (the free world people) require roads; public transport; an education network; a value exchange system (money); electronic communications (internet); air transport hubs (airports) and so on. All necessary for modern life. And all only possible if we work somehow together to maintain them.

Three main categories of public services.

If you analyze what main types of public services there are, they can be classified into three groups: security-services; network-services and care-services.

Security services

Security services are needed to prevent threats to have impact. And fight the impact of a threat has occurred. They scale from local police, fire-fighters, and ambulances to organizations on a global scale like the NATO. The rules according they work are the legal system. Also, the legal system is part of this set of public services.

Network services

Network services are the services what link society together and what enable modern city life. Schools, roads, telecom-networks, oil and gas pipe-lines, shipping facilities and so on.
Often it is forgotten that the education network also is part of this set of service. It is a network needed to keep the capabilities of a modern society at the level needed to maximal utilize the resources what nature offers us. Without it, we will lose wealth.

Care services

Care service are healthcare, elderly care, youth services and so on.

The problem with politics.

The willingness of people to pay for public services has a downside. The downside is that it generates a cashflow that attracts all kind of crooks. We could call them taxsalespeople. They paint an issue (maybe not even recognized by the majority of the people) that needs tax money to solve it. Special if lobby friends are in the picture, politicians are easily persuaded to spend money (to help their friends).

We modernized society, but have in the past centuries failed to leave the feudal perception of public service organization behind. We used to have one king, his friends, and family spending money on other things than the services we pay for. Now we have a whole political class living like kings. The feudal word government is also still in use. In communist societies, that is the same.

We think change starts with new words, what better express what we want. We don't want to pay tax (without knowing what for). We (Free World People) do want to pay public service cost.

The worn out world order

Context Humanity is an ever-changing organism. Modern society is railed by rules, standards, and laws. In recent history, several attempts have been made to unify humanity and have common laws. Hague Conventions of 1899 and 1907 for example. And the League of Nations . And finally the United Nations . Parallel to the good intentions, group powers and armament developed. And this painted an evolving picture for the reality of all good intentions embedded in the UN and such. Causing these intentions becoming obsolete time and time again. And thus also the UN. Russia goes its own way. Islamic extremists like Iran go their own way. All undermining the so-called global rule based society.  The Russian invasion of Ukraine triggered a whole new power and armament reality. As happened in the past, all kind of new technology pops up that did not exist when the last time armament was tested in real battle. And again, painting a complete new power picture. Russia and China appear not to be t...

Left versus right as political classification is obsolete

The obsolete model What Wikipedia says about it. On this type of political spectrum , left-wing politics and right-wing politics are often presented as opposed, although a particular individual or group may take a left-wing stance on one matter and a right-wing stance on another; and some stances may overlap and be considered either left-wing or right-wing depending on the ideology. In France, where the terms originated, the left has been called "the party of movement" or liberal , and the right "the party of order" or conservative . The three class view If we look to the history of politics, we can clearly recognize another aspect of dominant division that is actual more critical to type political movements, namely nation central dominance (controlled) versus "Laissez Faire" ( let it be) . Communists and (National) Socialists are clear historic examples of controlled politics. And nowadays, all technocrat politics have a tendency to soft or hard cro...
